Job Details - Master's Degree Required
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Certification in healthcare compliance (CHC) or another comparable compliance certification from a recognized industry professional association with a focus on regulatory compliance, auditing, monitoring, etc is required. Master's Degree and coding certification preferred.
The Entity Compliance Officer (“ECO”) is responsible for managing the implementation of MedStar Health’s Compliance and Privacy program and overseeing the operation of that function in one or more assigned facility. The ECO will also serve as the privacy liaison for their facility. The ECO’s general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing MedStar Health’s annual compliance work plans, systems, processes and policies designed to ensure compliance with Federal healthcare program requirements at the entity level. The Compliance Lead will be based at the assigned local entity or entities.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in healthcare compliance matters, preferably for a large healthcare system or teaching hospital with exposure to compliance and billing regulations impacting skilled nursing, rehabilitation and cardiology services. Experience in conducting investigations, performance of coding and billing reviews and auditing. In depth knowledge of healthcare compliance and privacy laws, regulations, and guidance.
This position will primarily support MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital and Nursing Center. Travel between facilities is required.
